Butte Resident 61 Years Dies

John Howes, 3449 Carter, died Tuesday noon at a local hospital. Mr. Howes resided in this city for the last 61 years. He was employed as a miner for many years and retired in 1940.

He was a member of the Butte Miners union.

Surviving relatives include two daughters and one son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Alexander, Butte; and Miss Hallie Howes, Los Angeles; one son, John Howes, Jr., Butte; grandchildren, Mr. and Mrs. John Alexander, Lima; Mr. and Mrs. Ben Alexander, New York City; Mr. and Mrs. Harold C. Babcock, Bozeman; and Miss Marcia Alexander, Butte; great-grandchildren of Butte; New York City; Bozeman and Lima.

The remains are at White's funeral home.
