Jimmie started his career by building cotton gins and worked on projects as large as the University of Arkansas HPER Building as a project manager. He was in the Highland Hundred Booster Club for the University of Memphis. Jimmie was a proud Marine and was of the Methodist belief. Jimmie enjoyed family activities especially cooking for the grandchildren and their friends. He spent time quail hunting, traveling, playing golf, woodworking, fishing, and tailgating at ballgames.
Jimmie is preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Glenn.
Survivors include his loving wife of 61 ½ years, Gayle Jones of the home; daughter, Lori (Roger) Williams of Jonesboro: son, James Glenn "Bo" (Cambria) Jones of Allen, Texas; and sister, Linda Jones of Germantown, TN; grandchildren, Taylor (Rob) Kaloghirou, Jordan (Cody) Powell, Tanner (Alexis) Williams, Nicholas (Morgan) Jones, Mason Jones, Natalie Jones; 8 great-grandchildren, Collins, William, Sloane, Weston, Stella, Baker, Braxton & Norris; three nieces, a nephew; and his beloved dog, Rascal.
A celebration of life will be held Saturday, February 5, 2022, at 2:00 pm at Journey Church. Family and friends are welcome to speak.
