David Thiele, age 51, was swiftly and peacefully carried to heaven by his angels on the evening of Sunday, January 23, 2022. Born August 27, 1970 in Oconomowoc, WI, he was the son of Tim and Nancy Thiele.

David's early life was filled with his passion for the outdoors, mostly on the water which included fishing, hunting, boating and especially waterskiing - barefoot waterskiing. He attended Lutheran schools and graduated from Lakeside Lutheran High School in 1988. He earned his BA from the University of Wisconsin-Madison during which time he met the love of his life, Julia. He loved to venture into the woods and following his graduation in 1992 embarked on a lengthy back country excursion with his brothers across many of our National parks where he marveled up close at the beauty of God's creation. He relocated to the DC Metro area in 1995 so he and Julia could be together, began a successful career in medical sales, and developed what would prove to be lifelong friendships with colleagues and roommates.

David and Julia were married January 3, 1998, in Arlington, VA and briefly lived in Germantown, MD, before returning to the Midwest in 2000 where they moved into their home on Lake Wisconsin in Lodi. Shortly thereafter, David's adult life was altered by chronic medical challenges that, despite all predictions and complications, he managed to consistently overcome. This unasked-for aspect of his life proved to be a conduit and platform to do his best work and live his passion, which was his love for Jesus and telling others about Him. His other true loves included his family and the blessing of lake living. Phrases commonly heard by David included, "I have everything I ever wanted," "I have the perfect family," "Our reward is in Heaven" and best of all, "What can I pray for you?"

Although short, David's life was full as was his heart. He is survived by his wife, Julia; daughter Katelyn ("Kate") and son, Jack. He also leaves behind his parents, 12 siblings, 22 nieces and nephews and a host of other dearly loved ones.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Henry and Felicia Thiele and Elmer and Eva Abendroth; and father-and mother-in-law, Roger and Carol Picard.
