EDITH V. ARCHER, 111, longtime resident of Modoc, died Wednesday, April 11, 2001, in Hickory Creek Nursing Home, New Castle. She was born Nov. 25, 1889, in Ohio to Alonzo and Zelinda Rogers Matchett. She had lived in New Castle for the past four years. She was a member of the Lewisburg, Ohio Church of the Brethren.
Survivors include a son, James Archer of Bonita Springs, Fla.; four grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel Joseph Archer, in 1960; a daughter; three stepdaughters; and a granddaughter.
Service will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Culberson Funeral Home in Modoc. Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery in Lewisburg, Ohio. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Friday and from 10 - 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
