Obituary of Lee A. "Andy" Smith
Funny, goofy, loving, giving, kind and sometimes weird are some of the adjectives used to describe Lee "Andy" Smith, 64, of Hershey, PA who entered God's Glory on Thursday evening, January 6, 2022 at Hershey Medical Center. Born in Harrisburg, he was the son of the late Lee M. and Miriam R. "Mim" Charlesworth Smith. He was the dedicated husband and truelove of Debra A. Herr Smith, "the neighbor girl from down the lane" for 34 years on June 6, 2021. Andy has and always will remain in the neighborhood, Bachmanville, he was born and raised, close to his adoring friends and family.

As fun-loving as Andy was, he was serious about his Christian faith and desired to share Christ's love with others. He had a special burden for introducing Jesus the Messiah with Jewish people. He was active in the Legacy Faith congregation in Harrisburg. Andy also had a passion for the people of Cambodia where he started a micro loan ministry for the poor.

In addition to graduating from Lower Dauphin High School in 1976, he attended Lancaster Bible College. Andy owned and operated Chappy's Nursery and in his free time enjoyed hunting and fishing, especially fishing in Canada. He was also a devoted Philadelphia Flyers and Phillies fan. He enjoyed connecting with others through conversation, even when he didn't know what-the-heck he was talking about! He loved drinking coffee anytime of the day or night and was known to wake during the middle of the night, brew a pot, and then return to bed.

Andy loved God, country, and family and looked forward to the time when he could add "Grandpa" before his name. Though, he already had 4 adored "fur grand-babies" to complement his 6 personal "furry children". In addition to his wife, he is survived by three children, Zachary A. Smith, husband of Tina X. Chen-Smith, of Palmyra, Katrina A., wife of Jake Leggore, of Rochester, PA, and Sara A. Smith at home; two sisters, Laurel A., wife of Walter D. Schiavoni, of Hershey and Nancy S., wife of Thomas D. Hoefel, of Belleville; and his mother-in-law, Ruthanne Landvater Herr, wife of the late Robert Herr, of Hershey.

A celebration of life for Andy will be held at Legacy Faith, 104 Roberts Valley Road, Harrisburg, PA on February 24th 2022 at 2:00 PM. There will be no public viewing. Private interment was in Stauffer Mennonite Cemetery, Palmyra. If desired, contributions may be made to Answer International, 301 South Dobson Road, Burleson, TX 76028, or Voice of the Martyrs, 1815 SE Bison Road, Bartlesville, OK 74006, or America Center for Law and Justice, PO Box 90555, Washington, DC 20090-0555.
