George (SPANKY) Clayton Russell III, 57, of Destrehan, LA, passed away on January 16, 2022. Spanky was a resident of Destrehan throughout the majority of his life.

Spanky was born in New Orleans, LA- a city that truly fit his big and fun personality. He attended Crescent City Baptist High school where he developed a love of playing football and would continue that love with playing Semi-pro ball from 1998-2000.

He was a member of St. Charles Parish Volunteer Fire Department as not only a firefighter, but as an EMT. He dabbled in many different areas and was a Jack of all trades, and eventually retired in 2021 from being a Heavy Machinery Operator for Nuclear Power Plants.

In his spare time, he enjoyed spending time at his 11 acre property in Mississippi, which was always his dream and spending time with family.

Spanky is predeceased by his wife, Karron Senseney Russell and his father, George Clayton Russell Jr.

Among those to cherish and keep his memories are his two children, Brytani and Derak Russell (Wife, Elizabeth); One amazing grandchild, Karron Marie (the ONLY person he would listen to); Mother, Donna LeBlanc Russell; Siblings, Doug, Todd, and Tiffany Russell. He also leaves behind nieces and nephews, extended family, and an almost un-measurable amount of incredible life-long friends.

Spanky will always be remembered for his incomparable personality, laughter, and his amazingly huge heart. He was never one to say no to helping others, never one to come to you in anger, and never one to judge. His love of life, his love of family, and his pride in every day life will forever live through all of us, because Spanky is one we all know we will NEVER forget.

If you would like to pay your respects, a visitation will be held at Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home at 4747 Veterans Memorial Blvd, Metairie, LA 70006 from 10am-12pm, followed by a graveside service at Jefferson Memorial Gardens at 145 Lentini Ln, St Rose, LA 70087 beginning at 1pm.
