He was born in Sacramento County, California, to Walter and Bessie (Grove) Harp. Shortly after his birth he was adopted by Johnnie and Beatrice Pace. In the spring of 1948, the Pace family moved to McAlester, where he attended school. He enjoyed riding bikes, mowing lawns and dogs. He was a resident of Ada and passed away at a hospital there at the age of 58. He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Bessie Harp; his adopted parents, Johnnie and Beatrice Pace; two brothers, J.W. Martin and Joe Harp; one sister, Pat West; two aunts, Josie Adams and Willie Arpelar, and an uncle, Clarence Arpelar.
