Hubert Smith Robinson, 80, of Mt. Washington, passed away on Monday, January 24, 2022 at Jewish Hospital. He was born in Sonora, KY two days after Pearl Harbor on December 9, 1941, the same day as his twin brother, Herbert. He worked briefly in construction, then at International Harvester, before working several decades, and retiring from, Ford Motor Company. The hallmark of his life, however, was his faithful obedience to his Lord, from which came his selflessness and service to his home church- St. Matthews Baptist in the 70s and early 80s, and First Baptist Church of Mount Washington, KY since 1983, where he served thousands of hours and gave generously and faithfully. God blessed him with wisdom, an unshakeable foundation, and peace. He supported his wife, Mary, as they were truly one, partners in life, and in her Bible teaching endeavors.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Mary Ford Robinson; his parents, Herman Robinson and Ruth Robinson, a brother, Jim Robinson; sisters, Betty Lou Patton and Frances Brackett. He is survived by one daughter, Paige Robinson; brothers, Herbert Robinson (Gayle), Bill Robinson (Jennie), and Michael Robinson (Sharon), and sisters, Joann Stewart (David) and Doris Ingram. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Thursday, January 27, 2022 at First Baptist Church of Mt. Washington with burial to follow in the Sonora Cemetery. Friends may visit from 10 a.m. until time of service Thursday at the church. Memorial gifts in lieu of flowers are suggested to the First Baptist Church or Bible Study Fellowship International. https://www.bsfinternational.org
