George Franklin "Fritz" Morris III, age 86, of Cedarville, passed away on Wednesday, January 19, 2022, surrounded by his family at his daughter's residence in Cedarville, Ohio. He was born January 29,1935, in Eden, New York, the son of Dolores Rena (Yager) and George Franklin Morris II. He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife: Gladys Jane (Rice) Morris in 1974; his son: Dale Franklin Morris in 2021; sister: Sally Ebert and brothers: Mahlon and David Morris. He is survived by his wife, Phyllis (Ament) Morris, whom he married in 1975; his children: Becky (Keith) Nelligan of North Collins, NY; Barb (Rob) Hunt of Cedarville, OH; Marcy (Mike) Muffoletto of Brant, NY; and John (Amy) Morris of Cedarville, OH; 14 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; brothers: Dan (Kathy) Morris, and Mike (Sharon) Morris; daughter-in-law: Linda Morris; and sister-in-law: Margitta Morris; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Fritz was a US Army veteran, serving in Germany. He had been a supervisor at the Ford Stamping Plant in Buffalo, New York for over 30 years, before moving to Cedarville, OH in 1988. He then joined the maintenance department at Cedarville University for an additional 16 years before his retirement. He had been a Baptist Minister at various churches in the Buffalo, NY area. He was currently a member of Grace Baptist Church in Cedarville, OH, where he served faithfully as an usher. Most importantly, Fritz loved spending time with his family. The family would like to thank the staff of Friends Care Community, Yellow Springs, OH, where he had been a resident for the past couple years. On January 29, 2022, at Grace Baptist Church, Cedarville, there will be Visitation from 10:30am-11:30am with a Memorial Service at 11:30am. He will be interred in Eden, NY sometime in the spring.
