Douglas Benjamen Cross, 67, of Fort Gratiot, died unexpectedly on Monday, January 24, 2022.
He was born September 9, 1954 in Royal Oak to Eleanor and the late Allen Cross. He married Marguerite "Maggie" Fox on June 24, 1978 in St. Edward on the Lake Catholic Church.
Douglas was a farmer all of his life. He loved his family very much, especially his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Maggie; sons, Patrick (Trisha) and Daniel (McKenzie) Cross; grandchildren, Ayden, Corey, Carter, Jaxon and Kaylee; mother, Eleanor Cross; and siblings, Mike (Lori) Cross, Jenine (Frank) Pichler, Fran (Robert) Uhlianuk, Edgar (Sue) Cross, Clayton (Karen) Cross, Sally Cross, Marian (John) Koch and Gina (Chris) Ferraro.
Visitation will be held from 4-8 p.m. on Friday, January 28, 2022 in Karrer-Simpson Funeral Home.
Mr. Cross will lie in state from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the Funeral Mass at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 29, 2022 in St. Mary Catholic Church. The Reverend Zbigniew Zomerfeld will officiate.
Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Port Huron.
