Jessica "Nanny" Noemi Traweek Hayes (Maraist), 41, of Lumberton, passed from this life on Sunday, January 16, 2022. She was born in Port Arthur, Texas on August 19, 1980, to Celeste Maraist and was raised in Nederland by her mother and her parents, Walter and Monin Maraist. She graduated from Nederland High School where she was an active member of the marching band, Key Club, and HOSA, amongst a wide range of other extracurricular activities and clubs.
Jessica was full of personality and lit up the room wherever she went. Her family and friends adored her beautiful spirit and her angelic singing voice.
She is survived by her husband, David (Chris) Hayes, of Lumberton.
She is preceded in death by grandparents, Walter and Celeste "Lilly" Maraist, of Port Arthur and "Papi" Benedo and "Mami" Petra, of Puerto Rico; and stepfather, Mark Wion, of Beaumont.
Jessica's cremation arrangements will be handled through Broussard's Crematorioum, Beaumont, under the direction of Broussard's, 505 North 12th Street, Nederland.
