Richard Lyle Rush
SEPTEMBER 2, 1932 – JANUARY 22, 2022

Richard Lyle Rush, 89, of Cape Coral, FL, went to be with the Lord January 22, 2022. He was born in Crawfordsville, IN, on September 6, 1932. Richard, also known as "Dick", graduated from New Market High School, May 5, 1950. He participated in band, wrestling, and basketball. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1952-1956. Prior to the Navy, he was in the National Guard.

He was married to Sandra Sue Rush on October 7th, 1990. Richard worked in the order and invoice department of Midstates Wire in Crawfordville, IN, for 40 years. Richard and Sandra moved to Cape Coral, Florida, where he worked for the Cape Coral newspaper, "The Daily Breeze," until his passing. Richard had a passion for spectator sports, gardening, growing roses, and his cat Holly.

He is survived by his wife Sandra, five children; Mark Rush of North Carolina, Cheryl Stewart of Michigan, Debbie Roshell of Cape Coral, FL, Donna Griffin of Lafayette, IN, and Dawn Washington of Bainbridge, IN, and eight grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Russel Rush and Moselle Rush (Reiner).
