Flonnie Marie Godbey, 85, formerly of Mercer County, died Friday, Oct. 20, 2006 at the Island Lake Center in Longwood, FL.
Born Sept. 30, 1921 in Liberty, she was the daughter of the late Simon Thomas and Mary Frances York Douglas, and was the widow of Claudie B. Godbey.
She was a homemaker and a long time member of the Hopewell Baptist Church.
Survivors include: three daughters, Ivadean Preston of Harrodsburg, Nannie Guthrie of Winter Springs, FL, and Faustine Ames of Mercer County; one son, Lester B. Godbey of Nashville, MI; 10 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, and eight great-great-grandchildren.
Services were held Wednesday, Oct. 25 at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Richard Easterling officiating. Burial was in Hopewell Baptist Cemetery in Harrodsburg.
Pallbearers were grandsons.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Baptist Children's Home or to the Gideon Bible Fund., and was the widow of Claudie B. Godbey.
