A native of Haywood County, Kathleen was born February 19, 1942, to the late Clinton John Rider and Hester Wood Rider. She was also preceded in death by her loving husband of 61 years, Loyd Andrew Carver, who passed in 2020; sons, Kenneth and Terry Carver; brother, Brady Rider; sister, Norma Jean Pegg; and sister-in-law, Louise Rider. Kathleen loved spending time with her family and her grandkids. She got great enjoyment from decorating for all holidays and sharing her canned goodies with friends. She loved to cook, camp, farm, craft, grow flowers, and socialize. Kathleen loved the Lord, life, and everyone around her. She was loved dearly and will be greatly missed.
Left to cherish Kathleen's memory are her son, Randy Carver and his wife Kim of Waynesville; daughter, Patricia Franklin of Florida; 13 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Sherry Carver of Waynesville; twin sister, Irene Ennis; sister, Renee (Mark) Corwin; brother, Walter "Bunt" Rider; along with several nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Funeral Services will be held at 2 pm, Thursday, January 27, 2022, at Jonathan Valley Baptist Church with Reverend Billy Ferguson and Pastor Mark Tice officiating. The family will receive friends from 12-2 pm prior to the visitation at the church. Burial will follow in Carver Rice Cemetery.
