Johnny Bud Fry, 84, of Mexico, MO, formerly of Montgomery City, MO, died on Friday, January 14, 2022, at North Care Hospice House in Kansas City, MO.

Johnny was born on September 14, 1937, in New Florence, Missouri, to Harvey Pascul Fry, Sr. and Bessie Lillie Brower Fry on the family farm. He graduated from New Florence High School in 1955 and went on to serve in the United States Navy for three years. Johnny worked as a self-employed carpenter for many, many years. He was also employed by Montgomery Manufacturing as a union steelworker, an insurance agent for Farmers & Laborers, held public offices of Montgomery County Commissioner and Coroner. He attended Friendship Baptist Church in Mexico, Missouri.

Mr. Fry read his Bible every day. He enjoyed watching and reading westerns. He enjoyed visiting the Montgomery City Library and, over the years, has donated many books. Johnny enjoyed the outdoors, whether it was hunting, fishing, butchering meat or gardening. He was a great cook, loved to barbecue and fry fish. Johnny's garden was always abundant with produce which he enjoyed canning and sharing with friends and neighbors. If there was an auction around, you can almost guarantee that Johnny was coming back with a truck load. He spent a lot of time visiting with his neighbors, friends, and family, all of which will miss him greatly.

Johnny Bud Fry is survived by two children: Sandra Jonas (Bryan), of Montgomery City, MO, and Wayne Fry (Pam) of McFall, MO; grandchildren: Andrew Fults (Johannah Wright), of Montgomery City, MO, Katie Fults of Jonesburg, MO, Justin Fry (Emily), of Cedar City, Utah, Taylor Jonas of Overland, MO, and Brooke Jonas (David Clary) of Hull, Illinois; great-grandchildren: Steven Fults, Bradyn Fults, Hazel Burch, Morgan Fults, Landon Teson, Maci Teson, Madi Teson, Hayden Clary and one great-grandson on the way; two sisters: Dolly Jane Schreffler of Copan, Oklahoma and Jewell Mae Cranor of Newport, Kentucky; a special friend, Norma Combs of Gladstone, MO and her family; Patti Combs Ledoux of Gladstone, MO, Susanne Combs Lauber (Andy), of Kansas City, MO and Macie Norman.
