Mrs. Truax was born June 19, 1917, in Wilmington, daughter of the late Howard and Frances (Marshall) Truax.
She lived most of her life as a housewife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother on Smyrna Landing, now known as Shorty Lane.
She was married to the late Frank V. Truax Sr. for 62 years, until his death in September 2000.
Mrs. Truax attended First Missionary Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a sister, Elsie, who died at a young age.
She is survived by two sons and their wives, Frank Victor Truax, Jr. and Lorraine Truax and Howard and Edna Truax; and four grandchildren and their spouses, Ron and Sharon Truax, Lois and Andy Ribolla and their children whom she lovingly referred to as her boys, U.S. Marine Corps Cpl. Andrew Ribolla II and Brian Ribolla, and her girl, Megan Ribolla, Kristal and Osiris Diaz and their two children and April and Brian Moore and their two children,
Her pallbearers were her grandsons, Ronald Truax and Andy Ribolla, her great-grandsons, Cpl. Andrew Ribolla II and Brian Ribolla, her next door neighbor, Rocky Slaughter and his father-in-law, John.
