She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Elsie Bystrek; and brother, Mark Schmolinski.
Phyllis is survived by her loving children, O'Dean (Kristie) Smith, Jr., Dionna (Ray) Mikles, Shawn (Dawn) Smith and Nicole (Dave) Sapp; her grandchildren, Tiffany, Rachael, Melanie, Chelsea, Nicolette, Brooke, Zachary, Courtney, Caleb, Brandon, Brayden, Teagan and Anthony; great grandchildren, Addison, Aeriyonna, Za'Riyah and Jameson; siblings, Barbara Davis, Alfred (Lori) Schmolinski, Jr. and Brenda (Tom) Horner; brother-in-law, Tony Bystrek; and many other loving nieces, nephews, family and friends.
She retired from General Motors. In her free time, she adored spending time with her family. Phyllis was a "rock" to many people in her life and was always there for those she loved. She was the best friend to her family members and devoted her life to them. Phyllis was a fire-cracker and could always put a smile on your face. She will be greatly missed by everyone who loved her.
Visitation will be held from 5:00pm-7:00pm, on Thursday, January 27, 2022, at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4104 Needmore Rd., Dayton. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 am, on Friday, January 28, 2022, at the funeral home with Pastor Steve Veg officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Hills Memorial Gardens, Tipp City.
