Margaret Rose Nelson, nee de Solla, age 90, passed away on January 16, 2022. Margaret was the youngest of three born in Montreal, Quebec to British immigrants. She attended the McDonald School of Teaching at McGill University. Margaret loved to travel, and one of her adventures brought her to Chicago, where she taught first grade. As luck would have it, she met her future husband Duane there. The two married and settled in Stillwater, MN where they raised four children.
Margaret's biggest legacy is her family. Her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren will miss her spontaneous tea parties, midnight toast, messy projects, her scones and jam, and hours of love and laughs. She is survived by her children Laurey (Anthony), Ross (Jeannie), and Holly; grandchildren Emily, Sam, Ben, Caleb, Katey, Ross, and David; great grandchildren John, Cohen, Thea, Kase, Bode and Lennon. Preceded in death by her husband Duane, daughter Lynelle, and sons-in-law Matt and Paul. Margaret was loved by many, and a friend to all.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. on Thursday, January 27, 2022 at the Church of St. Michael, 611 S. 3rd St., Stillwater, MN 55082. Visitation will be one hour prior to the Mass at the church. Burial will be at Rutherford Cemetery.

Special thanks to the staff at Saint Therese for their loving care the last few months. Memorials preferred to the family.
