Charles was a proud veteran of the U.S. Army and loved being a mechanic, sipping on a Polar Pop, and being with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Along with his parents, Charles is preceded in death by his sister, Barbara Smith; and brother, Michael Sanders.
Charles is survived by his loving daughter, Tifanie Griffin; grandchildren, Jasmyn Foster, Delysha (Dorian) Hazzard, and Elizabeth (Edgar) Foster; 10 great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.
Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 26, 2022, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - New Albany (3309 Ballard Lane). His Funeral Service will be at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home with cremation to follow. He will be laid to rest with military honors in the New Albany National Cemetery at a later date
