Roy Eugene Stewart, 61, of Fortville, passed away at residence Jan. 19, 2022 following an extended illness.
He was born Jan. 18, 1961 in Greenfield, Indiana and was a Fortville resident most of his life.
Roy was a 1979 graduate of Pendleton Heights High School and was a U.S. Air Force veteran having served six years. During his time in the Air Force, he took classes at San Antonio College, San Antonio, Texas and Community College of the Air Force, Maxwell AFB, Alabama. He graduated from Purdue University in 1990 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering. He worked at UPS 1985-1990, while he was going to school. He worked at Arvin North American Automotive from 1990-1996, ABB Inc. from 1996-2010 until he wanted to move closer to his family. He worked as a robotics engineer at Keter North America, Anderson, from 2010 until God called him home.
Roy was kind and softly spoken, and always had time to answer a question or solve a problem, no matter how small. Roy loved to travel on his Harley Davidson motorcycle. He would take two weeks at a time and would always say, "I am going where my Harley takes me." Most of the time he would ride up the East Coast one trip and then the West Coast the next trip, always stopping at new places every time he went. He also loved his video games.(Oh, did he). He also loved to read, take part in stock trading, and taking classes for personal interest.
Survivors include his father, Albert B. Stewart of Fortville; siblings, John D. Stewart of Fortville and Kelly J. (Eddie) Fowler of Pendleton; and a nephew, Corbin Fowler of Anderson.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Wanda J. (Smellage) Stewart.
Services: 1 p.m. Monday at Wilson St. Pierre Funeral Service and Crematory, Lahm Chapel, Pendleton, with Rev. Dale Erwin officiating. Burial with Air Force military honors will follow in Gravel Lawn Cemetery, Fortville.
