Arlene M. Jordan, 76, a longtime resident of Oxford, Georgia passed away on January 21, 2022. Mrs. Jordan was born in Newton County on January 6, 1946 and was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, John D. Jordan. She is John and Arlene raised their kids in Oxford. Weekends or summers were usually spent camping, fishing, water skiing, swimming, playing sports, road tripping across the United States or some type of outdoor adventure. After raising her children, she retired from the City of Covington as a billing manager. After her husband's passing, she moved to Social Circle where she met many new friends and attended Social Circle United Methodist Church.
Arlene loved her family and would drop everything to help in any way possible. She loved cooking most of all and making sure everyone around her was well fed and comfortable. Her Sunday dinners were legendary and no one dared to miss them. She also loved landscaping, traveling, watching grandchildren playing sports, shopping, playing cards and her two dogs Chloe and Lexie.
Funeral Services for Mrs. Jordan will be held at 1 o'clock Monday, January 24, 2022 Social Circle United Methodist Church, 261 S. Cherokee Road, Social Circle, Georgia 30025 with Reverend Kathy Morris officiating. The family will receive friends 12:00 PM until 1:00 PM at the church prior to the service. Masks are requested. In lieu of flowers the family requests that you make donations to The Food Ministry of Covington First United Methodist Church or your favorite local charity. J.C.
