Elaine Joyce Davis, 92, of Independence, Mo. passed away peacefully on Friday, January 14, 2022. Elaine was born to Floyd and Geneva Umphrey on October 4, 1929 in Bentley, Michigan.
While attending Redford high school Elaine met her best friend and love of her life Earl. Shortly after graduation they were married on July 24, 1948 and spent the next 73 years creating a life together. Earl and Elaine loved to travel and in 1971 they were able to venture around the world. They also spent time digging for gold. Elaine was a homemaker most of her life and enjoyed caring for others. She had many unique talents. Elaine enjoyed painting, crocheting, knitting and in her younger years roller skating. Elaine took great pride in her family and will be missed greatly.
She is survived by her beloved husband, Earl; children, Eric Davis (Julie) and Eleanor Stevens (Tom); 3 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.
Elaine was preceded in death by her siblings.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Inurnment has taken place at Higginsville National Veterans Cemetery.
