John was born July 1, 1943 in Welch, West Virginia the son of the late Edgar and Rosa (Fraley) Griffith. John was a true handyman. He was the owner & operator of Griffith & Sons Roofing in Urbana, Ohio for 25 years. For the past 30 years while living in Naples, Florida he was the owner & operator of John's Carpet Cleaning. He was a member of the Veritas Masonic Lodge No. 396, Naples, Florida, where he served as a past Worshipful Master. After retirement, John moved back to Urbana to be near his family. Every Sunday, he would eat at the Airport Café in Urbana. He held his pilot's license and enjoyed all sports, traveling, cruising, going to Las Vegas. But most of all he loved spending time with his family and his pugs, King and Charlie.
John is survived by his daughters, Nikki (Joe) Crable and Rhonda Griffith; sons, John Griffith II, Bill (Heidi) Griffith and Jason (Amy) Griffith; stepdaughter, Tammy (Rick) Buckley; siblings, Bill (Kitty) Griffith, Harrison Griffith, Sis (John) Vanhorn, Marguerite (Marvin) Robie, Shirley Turner and Charlotte Craig; 18 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Patricia (Covey) Robl; second wife, Deloris Griffith; daughter, Jennifer Griffith; siblings, Viola Ireland and Edward, Calvin, Franklin & Melvin Griffith.
Services will be held at the convenience of the family.
Burial will be in Concord Cemetery.
