He was born on July 25, 1939 in Pensacola, Florida to Myron Boice of Watertown, South Dakota and Dorothy (Gandy) Boice of State Line, Mississippi.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Charlotte Cotham Boice; children, Emily Boice Chever and Christopher Jacob Boice; grandson Hamp "Trey" Chever III; and his brother, Richard D. Boice, all of Pensacola.
He was employed by the state of Florida Labor Department as an employment counselor and representative in Milton and Pensacola for 28 years. After retirement, he was a substitute teacher, test administrator, student mentor, and tutor.
He was a member and lay reader of Christ Episcopal Church. He was active in the Masonic Lodge, serving as past Master of Lodge 348, Ferry Pass. He also was in the York Rite, Scottish Rite, and Shriners.
Service preceded by visitation will be held at Pensacola Memorial Gardens on Monday, January 24, 2022 beginning at 11:30am in the chapel followed by interment thereafter.
The Masonic burial rite will be conducted followed by services with Christ Church officiating.
Honorary pallbearers will be Christopher Boice and Troy W. Powell.
In Lieu of flowers, donation may be made to the Hadji Shrine Crippled Children's Transportation Fund, Pensacola.
