Michael P Murray, 85, of Baytown, passed away on January 18, 2022. He was born in Houston on May 18, 1936 to Roy and Thelma Murray and grew up in Crosby. He was married to Janelle (Bishop) for 65 years.
Mike served in the US Navy for nearly 12 years and had a career as a restaurateur working in a few local businesses as well as owning The Quack Shack and Murray's Family Restaurant in Baytown. He worked with the Jaycees and Kiwanis Clubs in Baytown and VFW Post 6441 in Wimberley. He loved serving and helping those in the community of Baytown and enjoyed building things for his grandchildren in his wood shop.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Janelle Murray, his parents, Roy James and Thelma Murray, his daughters, Rhonda Jo and Dennise Murray, and great-granddaughter, Kendra N. Clanton.
He is survived by his son, Jimmy Murray of Wimberley, son, Patrick Murray and wife, Yvette of Baytown, daughter, Michelle Ware and husband, Robbie of Baytown, seven grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, and Chip Gibson.
Visitation will be held from 5-7 pm, Thursday, January 27, 2022, at Navarre Funeral Home, 2444 Rollingbrook Dr., Baytown, TX 77521. Funeral service will be held at 10:00 am, Friday, January 28, 2022, at First Church Baytown, 3105 Rollingbrook Dr., Baytown, TX 77521. Interment will follow at Cedarcrest Cemetery, Baytown, TX.
