John Pearl Byrd, Jr. age 73 of Montgomery, Texas passed away January 17, 2022. He was born in Hallettsville, Texas on April 7, 1948 to the late John Pearl Byrd, Sr. and Theresa Laas Byrd.
John was preceded in death by his parents John Pearl Byrd, Sr. and Mother Theresa Laas Byrd, sisters Dorothy and Elaine Byrd and unknown siblings. He is survived by his wife Erna Marie (Eschenburg) Byrd, sons Rodney, Russell and spouse Scott and grandson Logan, Cameron and partner Randy.

John served in the United States Army as a Sergeant E-5, stationed in Seoul, Korea. He retired five years ago as a long-haul truck driver across forty-eight states. He achieved many accomplishments and awards during his career.

A celebration of life will be held Wednesday, January 26, 2022 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM in his honor at Metcalf Funeral Home, 1801 E White Oak Terrace, Conroe, Texas with a rosary at 7:00 PM. A graveside service and interment will occur Thursday, January 27, 2022 at 11:15 AM at Houston National Cemetery, 10410 Veterans Memorial Drive, Houston, Texas.
