Shawn worked as a Database Administrator for Bayer Business Services for almost 20 years and traveled to Germany to update their technology systems. He was an active member at Dutilh United Methodist Church. He loved hunting, fishing, woodworking, running, gardening, canning, cooking, barbequing and smoking meats. He was a foamer, meaning that he "enjoyed traveling to watch trains with his sons and mother-in-law at Horseshoe Curve." He also parent-coached his son's baseball teams and helped guide his sons in Cub Scouts over the years.
Surviving are his wife, Casey Crowe Chapman, whom he married on August 17, 2002; his children, Mason age 15 and Morgan Chapman age 12; his mother, Patricia Loner of Montoursville; his sister, Michelle Loner; his stepsisters and stepbrothers; and his mother-in-law, Sherry Frances Crowe. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Four and a half years ago Shawn had an unsuccessful surgery to remove a brain tumor. For the past 2 years, he has been in a level 4 nursing home.
Friends of Shawn E. Chapman, who died Wednesday, December 15, 2021, were received from 2:00 to 4:00 PM and 6:00 to 8:00 PM on Friday at McDonald-Aeberli Funeral Home, 238 Crowe Ave., Mars, PA. At the request of the family, masks were required due to the COVID pandemic.
On Saturday, December 19, 2021, a memorial service and burial was held at Dutilh Church & Cemetery in Cranberry Township followed by the Women's Club sponsoring a luncheon for family members.
