Obituary
Mark A. Bauer, age 63, of Perrysburg, Ohio, passed away on Tuesday, January 18, 2022.

He was born on February 17, 1958 to the late Robert and N. Ruth (Hornish) Bauer at Defiance, Ohio. He was a 1976 graduate of Defiance High School, and the Ohio State Agricultural Technical Institute. Mark worked as a Superintendent for several area golf courses which include Kettenring in Defiance, Inverness in Toledo, and Plumbrook County Club in Sandusky.

Mark was a very caring and selfless person. He was always down for a good laugh and was the life of the party. He enjoyed going to NRA banquets, cooking and hosting group events. Mark loved working at the golf course and took great pride in how the course looked. His greatest pride was the Plumbrook course.

He was extremely proud of his children and their accomplishments. Mark was a loving father, brother, son and friend, but his most cherished role was "Papa" to his beautiful grandchildren. His greatest joy was spending time with his family. Mark had many life-long friends, and his smile and endless sense of humor will be deeply missed by so many that loved him.

Mark is survived by his former wife and friend, Pam Bauer, his children; Travis (Pam Carrico) Bauer of Lewis Center, OH, Dustin Bauer of Huron, OH, Abby (Andrew) Knepley of Napoleon, OH, and Lucas (Samantha) Bauer of Worthington, OH, his sister, Nancy (Gene) Homan of Defiance, and his brothers, Terry (Linda) Bauer of Sidney, OH, David (Kyle) Bauer of Ney, OH, and Gregg (Lisa) Bauer of Angola, IN. He will be sadly missed by his grandchildren; Foster, Finn, Olsen, Rohan, Leona and Elaina, and his special family friends Sue and Dave Ruth.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his nephew Alexx Bauer, his in-laws, James and Carol Detrick, brother-in-law, Bruce Stelter, and sister-in-law, Gayle Holste.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 22, 2022 from 2:00 to 4:00 pm at Schaffer Funeral Home in Defiance. A funeral service to celebrate his life will follow at 4:00 pm at the funeral home, with Celebrant Deb Miller officiating.
