Charles Thomas Lewis "Goatman" - age 72; a longtime resident of Turnerville, Alabama died Sunday, January 16, 2022 at his residence in Saraland, Alabama. Goatman was a veteran of the U. S. Army serving in the Vietnam War and retired from Degussa. He loved his grandchildren, his flowers and working in the yard. He loved feeding the fish, fishing, vintage cars, and was an awesome cook. He was preceded in death by his brother, Roger Anthony Lewis, Jr.; mother, Naomi Corinne Dameron Lewis; one son, Robert Brent Gatz; brother, Kimberlin Taylor Lewis; and his father, Roger Anthony Lewis.
Survivors include: his children, Charles Anthony (Lynda) Lewis, David Cartis Carmichael, Jr., Larry Carmichael, Chrissie Biggs, and April Williams; his grandchildren, Tristan, Hannah, Miley, Charlie, Georgie, Emma, D.J., Dayleigh, Delaney, Gage, Jessica, Mason, Caleb, Lily, Robert, Libby, and Jacob; one great-granddaughter, Stella; one sister, Nelda Lewis Nicks; one brother, Martin Douglas (April) Lewis; many other relatives and friends, and a very special companion, his dog, Sherry.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 P.M. until 2:00 P.M. on Friday, January 21, 2022 at Turnerville Baptist Church. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Friday at Turnerville Baptist Church. Interment will be in Turnerville Cemetery.
