Duane lived a beautiful life and has always been known for his caring, compassionate nature, his bear like strength, and for always being a hardworking man. He was an incredible husband, father, and proud papa and will always be remembered for giving his best in all that he did.
Duane is preceded in death by his parents, Lloyd and Dolores Thompson, his father-in-law, William Rothwell, his brother, Thane Thompson, and his brother-in-law, William Rothwell II. He is survived by his wife, Diane of nearly 48 years; his sister, Doreen (David) Brunner; his in-laws Janine and Robert Charlton, Beth Rothwell, and Judi Thompson; his children Dana (Silvio) Giannetti, Danielle (Dan) St. Pierre, and Deanne Thompson; his grandchildren Isabella, Evan, and Christopher; and his loving nieces and nephews.
Visitation will take place at Lynch & Sons Funeral Directors, 39 W. Burdick, Oxford, on Sunday, August 19, 2018, from 2-6 PM. A Funeral Mass will take place at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 715 N. Lapeer Rd, Lake Orion on Monday, August 20, 2018, at 11 AM with visitation beginning at the church at 10 AM. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to
The Cholangiocarcinoma Foundation or American Cancer Society.
