Carol M. Davenport, 84, of Liverpool passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on January 17, 2022. Born in Syracuse to the late Laverne and Ethel (Shewring) Fryer, she had resided in Liverpool since 2000. She worked for many years at ARISE in Syracuse. She was the type of person who made life-long friends and maintained those friendships. Always up for an adventure, she never missed an opportunity for fun. Carol enjoyed travelling with friends and family. She was incredibly proud of her children and grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Carol was predeceased by her son, Jeffery Davenport, in 1998; sister, Barbara Woods, in 2015, and son-in-law, Ira Halsey, in 2020. Left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Cynthia (Christopher) Humble of Kirkville, NY and Tracy Halsey of Pulaski, NY; grandchildren, Nicole (Andrew) Hosmer of Apex, NC, Jon (Lydia) Davenport of Alexandria, VA, Michelle (Justin) English of Salt Lake City, UT, Kevin Humble of Kirkville, NY, Danielle (Andrew) Strout of Cicero, NY, Rachel (Ethan) Phillips of Sodus, NY and Lawrence Halsey of Pulaski, NY; four great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. A calling hour will be 10:00 am Thursday, June 9, 2022, followed by an 11:00 am memorial service and luncheon, at Ryder Park (located adjacent to Town of DeWitt Town Hall), 5400 Butternut Drive, East Syracuse, NY 13057. Private interment will be in White Chapel Memory Gardens, DeWitt. Maurer Funeral Home, Liverpool, has been entrusted with the arrangements. Contributions in Carol's memory may be made to Hospice of CNY: hospicecny.org. Please sign the funeral home on-line guestbook for Carol to express your condolences to her family.
