Heaven gained another angel on Tuesday, January 18, 2022.  Nancy Jeanne (Duncan) Bristow earned her wings.  She is now whole again and completely healed.

Nancy was born on June 14, 1950.  She always laughingly said that everyone was celebrating her birthday each year because it was Flag Day.

Nancy was born and raised in Enid, Oklahoma, and lived there until her Junior year in High School when her family moved to Elk City, Oklahoma, where she graduated in 1968.

After graduating from High School, she attended Southwestern Oklahoma State University at Weatherford, Oklahoma, where she majored in Music Education and graduated with a Bachelors Degree in 1972.  She later went on to earn a Masters Degree in Music Education in 1995 from Southwestern Oklahoma State University.

After graduation from college, she began her teaching career in the Mustang Public School system and taught Music at Mustang Elementary School for 35 years.  Her passion and love for music was very much demonstrated in the programs and plays that she produced and directed each year at Mustang Elementary.  She directed programs for each grade level each year with the production in 5th Grade being a "major" production each year. Some of the programs and plays that she presented during her career included:  Pinocchio, Jungle Book, Lion King and Beauty and the Beast.

Her love of music was carried over to her Church where she served as a Choir Director and Children's Music Director for many years.  Additionally, at another Church, she served as an accompanist for several years.

At the completion of her teaching career, Nancy decided to embark on another journey and work with her love of books.  Once retired from teaching, she went to work for the Mustang Public Library and worked there for a number of years before fully retiring in 2020.  While working at the Library, she realized a bonus in that she was able to work with parents and students that she had been involved with and taught during her teaching career.

Nancy loved her family.  Although she had no children of her own, She had three nephews that she cherished, help raise and supported them in all of their activities.

Shopping expeditions with her Mom and Sister were highlights each year, as well as taking vacations with the entire family.  Easter was not complete unless we had Aunt Nancy's Bunny Cake.  One other activity that Nancy was very interested in was that of Genealogy.  She spent many hours researching her family tree and documenting the history of her family in great detail.

Nancy is preceded in death by her parents, Vance and Etolie Duncan, her grandparents, Dewey and Mary Duncan, her aunts and uncles, Florence and David Odell, Arleta and Harvey Osborne, Darryl Willard and Ron Willard.
