Thomas J. Gill, Age 97, passed away peacefully at the Bath VA Medical Center on Sunday, January 16, 2022.

Tom, a son of John A. and Blanche (Walker) Gill, was born in Elmira, the oldest of 5 children.

He was predeceased by his sisters, Ruth A. Thomas and Ellamae Gill Case.

Tom is survived by his two brothers and a sister-in-law, all of Elmira; niece; four nephews; several great nieces and great nephews.

Tom was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran who served in the Central Pacific during WW II.

He worked at Remington Rand for 22 years and was a supervisor at the time the plant closed. Tom went on to work for another 14 years at Westinghouse as a supervisor before retiring. He was a member of the Horseheads Elks Club. Tom enjoyed staying active throughout his life. He was an avid baseball player, bowler, fly fisherman and golfer. He played a year of professional baseball and was named Elmira Bowler of the Year 4 times and is in the Elmira Bowling Association Hall of Fame.

Burial at Woodlawn Cemetery.
