Dick was born July 16, 1926, in Corvallis, Montana, to Ivan and Della Edwards. He died January 9, 2022, in Vancouver, Washington.
He served in the Army/Air Corps stationed in Japan during World War II. After his service, Dick attended Clark College in Vancouver, Washington where he met his wife, Ann. At Clark College Dick played on the football team, basketball team, and was a member of the track and field team. His career was spent with the City of Vancouver Fire Department starting in 1950 and retiring in 1974 as a lieutenant, he was the oldest firefighter in Clark County, Washington. Dick and Ann spent 50 years as members at Orchard Hills Golf and Country Club. He always enjoyed sports, hunting/fishing, and spending time with his family.
Dick is survived by his wife, Ann (Wallace) Edwards of 72 years; sons, Rick (Cinde), Bob (Vicki); grandchildren, Ashley Edwards Reed, Kelly Hicks, Jake Edwards, Terrin Edwards Weissenfluh; and seven great-grandchildren.
