John Edward Harrington, 76 of Detroit, Al., passed away January 16, 2022 at the North Ms. Medical Center in Hamilton. Visitation will be held Friday January 21, 6:00 until 8:00 at the Hamilton Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral service will be Saturday, 10:00 Am with burial to follow in Cooper Cemetery in Hamilton. Survivors include, Wife: Maggie Harrington, Children: Michael (Sonja) Harrington, Angela (Tony) Guyton, Vernon Casey, Rosetta Stewart, Jeanice (Teron) Nance, Brother: Tommie (Juanita) Harrington, Sister: Carrie Harrington, Eleven Grandchildren, Eighteen Great Grandchildren, A host of Nieces, Nephews, Other Relatives and Friends. He was preceded in death by, Parents: Robert and Sara Harrington, Sons: John Terrell Harrington and Travis Harrington, Sisters: Lillie Harrington, Hazel Hatcher, Lois Hampton, Brothers: Jimmy Paul, George Sr., Willie, and James "Bud" Harrington, Grandson: Brandon "Dude" Stewart.
He worked at Phillips Dairy Farm in his early days moving into construction. Johnny as we knew him was known for hunting, cleaning deer, fishing, spending time with family and friends. His favorite pastime was cleaning his cars and then showing them off with his speeding driving skills. He touched many lives in surrounding counties and will be missed greatly.
