Barbara L. Wilson
04/04/1953 - 01/17/2022
Barbara Lynn Wilson, age 68, passed away January 17th, 2022. She was born April 4, 1953 in Covington, Kentucky, to the late Robert and Ella(née Spence) Pohlman. Barb is survived by her husband and love of her life, Steve. They celebrated 47 years of marriage together this past October. They loved spending time together going to the movies, eating at Red Lobster, singing, and serving the Lord together. Their marriage was a true testament to how God can bless when two loving, obedient hearts commit themselves to God's design for family. Barb is also survived by; two sons, Trevor (Lorie) Wilson, Kyle (Shanna) Wilson; one daughter, Casey (David) Stephens; ten grandchildren, Kayla Jeffries, Charlie (Mikaela) Jeffries, Andrew Jeffries, Parker Wilson, Olivia Wilson, Emma Wilson, Callie Stephens, Reagan Stephens, Candler Stephens, and Cadence Stephens; and her sister Roberta Pohlman.
Barb was preceded in death by her sisters Patricia Burnett and Jean Weaver.
Barb's life was summarized by her faith and family. Her belief in Jesus Christ led her to a life of service in teaching and music. She shared God's Word with hundreds of children over nearly 50 years of teaching Sunday school, as well as keeping an in-home daycare. Barb honored God through music by singing solos, participating in choirs, traveling with Work in Progress, and duets with her husband. Outside of those ministries, there was never a job she refused for the work of the Kingdom. She could always be found busy about her Heavenly Father's business by doing things like serving meals, working in the nursery, and helping with vacation Bible school. Barb was a dedicated mother. She treasured her children and lived her life sacrificially for their benefit, never leaving room for doubt that they were anything but wholly loved, supported, and valued. She especially enjoyed her role as Mamaw to her ten grandchildren. There wasn't a mess they could make, a snack they could sneak, or chaos they could create that she wouldn't forgive just to have them in her presence. Barb also traveled all over to cheer on their academic, athletic, musical, and spiritual pursuits. When she had a free moment, Barb could be found in her favorite easy chair, wearing her comfy pj pants, snacking on sour gummy worms while watching tv or reading the latest Amish love story. 'Til we meet again in heaven, she will be remembered for a life well lived and a legacy well left. A visitation will be held Friday, January 21, 2022 at Hilltop Baptist Church
2425 Mack Road, Fairfield, from 10:00AM to 12:00PM witha funeral service at 12:00PM. Burial will follow at Arlington Memorial Gardens.
