Ronald Kevin Rambo, Sr. died suddenly on January 16, 2022 at home at the age of 62. He was sleeping in his recliner, wearing his "comfy pants". Ron was born in Riverhead, NY on February 6, 1959, to John and Shirley Rambo. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brothers John, Tom and Dennis, and his sister and brother-in-law, Maryann and Gordy Isham.

Ron had a great childhood in Wading River, NY. He graduated from Port Jefferson High School in 1977. He worked for Bob's garage, the Riverhead highway Department, and the Connors estate (to name just a few of his early jobs) and later drove tractor trailer over the road for several years.

He settled in Windsor in the 80's and married in 1989, always saying, "I traveled all over the country and came back here to Windsor and found the love of my life in my fishing buddy." Ron maintained his own business, Ron Rambo & Sons Home Repair & Maintenance and also worked for the Windsor Highway Department. He retired in 2018 and then had his choice of employers who wanted his skills as a driver and heavy equipment operator. He joined the Suit-Kote Corporation, working at their Hallstead PA location during the road construction season. Ron enjoyed honest, hard work and made close friends out of many of his co-workers through the years.

Ron was a member of Zion Episcopal Church of Windsor and a member of Zion's Vestry for many years. He was Cub Master and then Scout Master with Boy Scout Troop 68 in Windsor and was very proud of all his Scouts. He was involved in Windsor's Window on the Arts, First Knight, Corn Festival and Concerts on the Green. He especially enjoyed being involved with Windsor Middle School's annual Up With Life program teaching Survival Skills to the students. He loved his bulldozers and tractors, knifemaking, hunting (especially with his muzzleloaders), fishing, wood working, cooking and the family cottage on Beaver Lake.

Ron was a faithful Christian, a loving husband and father, a wonderful provider, a great friend and mentor to many, and the best hugger ever. Please know that the Rambo family appreciates all the love and prayers and help being sent. Funeral services will be announced at a later date this spring. Memorial donations in Ron's memory may be made to Zion Episcopal Church, P.O. Box 85, Windsor, NY 13865.
