Ida Christine "Chris" (Maxwell) Russell, 71, of Miles was transformed back to wholeness on Saturday, January 15, 2022, at her home. Death was swallowed up in victory, as she made her way to her promised, eternal home.

She was born March 9, 1950 in Stanton to Ed and Eunice Maxwell.

Chris graduated from San Angelo Central High School in 1968 and married Richard Russell Sr. in October of 1972. They had three children: Nicole, Rick, and Wes, and five grandchildren: Sutton, Corley, Rachel, Lane, and Brody.

Chris was a Christian, wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and friend, pretending to be nothing more.

Left to celebrate and cherish Chris's love and memory is her husband of 49 years, Richard Russell, Sr., Nicole Schwertner and husband Jason, Rick Russell, Jr. and wife Shannon, and Wes Russell; along with grandchildren Corley, Rachel and Lane Russell and Sutton and (MaKenzie) and Brody Schwertner; Chris's brothers, Boyd and wife Ardis Maxwell and Ed Maxwell Jr. and wife Mary; along with sister-in-laws, Denise Givens and husband Kent; and nieces, Merritt Grogan and husband Jim, Jessica Arredondo and husband Andy and nephew, Shane Maxwell and (Tiffany).

Chris was preceded in death by her parents, Ed Sr. and Eunice Maxwell, her in-laws, Hugh and Billie Russell, and brother-in-law, Wayne Russell.

The family wishes to thank Kindred Hospice, Dr. Kristen Goen, Dr. Raj Cheruku, Dr. Buddy Flynn, and Pastor Anne Williams. It is in times like these that the gifts of love, compassion and sincerity are evident. You all possess these gifts and blessed us with them.

A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, January 29, 2022, at Trinity Lutheran Church of Miles with Pastor Ann Williams, officiating. Cremation and arrangements are under the direction of Robert Massie Funeral Home in San Angelo.
