Wanda Louise Williamson, Altus resident, passed away peacefully at home on January 15, 2022. She was 94 years old at the time of her death.
Wanda was born on August 27, 1927 to J.E. and Elsie Ralston in Seminole, Oklahoma. She spent her younger years in Blair, Headrick, and Snyder, Oklahoma. She graduated from Snyder High School in 1945.
Being raised on a farm, she and her sisters knew the meaning and value of hard work. Wanda married Clint Williamson in Vernon, TX., on December, 27, 1947. To that union was born one daughter, Brenda.
Wanda was a member of the First Baptist Church of Altus. She worked many years as an assistant teacher with the 2 & 3 year-old children. Wanda was very involved in her daughter's activities including being the leader of their Brownie and Girl Scout troops.
Wanda traveled with Clint on many Woodmen of the World conventions, taking them various places including Miami, Florida and Los Angeles, California.
She was preceded in death by her parents, J.E. and Elsie Ralston, her husband, Clint who preceded her July 1, 1978; and her three sisters: Gwen Bonds, Dorothy Combs and infant LaQuita.
She is survived by her daughter, Brenda Curry and her husband, Randy; her granddaughters
( who were the joys of her life); Jennifer Curry Kee and husband Kevin, and Sarah Curry Long and husband, Rob. Added to her joy were her great-granddaughters: Adelyn Grace Long and Audrey Kate Long; as well as a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
