John Bryant, son of Joseph Bryant, Sr. and Rhoda Bryant, was born on Sunday, August 23,1959, in Wilmington, Delaware. He departed this life on Saturday, January 15, 2022, at his residence, after a long illness.

John received his early education at the Dunleith Community School System and graduated from De La Warr High School in 1977. While in high school, John excelled in sports and was an exceptional baseball player. Even as a youngster, John showed great talent on the community's Little League Baseball team. After graduating high school, John was granted a scholarship to play baseball for Wesley College in Dover, Delaware. An outstanding and skillful competitor, John considered a career in professional MINOR League Baseball…HE WAS JUST THAT GOOD!!!

After college, John enlisted in the United States Air force where he traveled extensively while serving his country. After basic training John and his family traveled to RAF Lakenheath Air Base, in Suffolk, England, in the United Kingdom. Thereafter, John was stationed in Italy, 50 miles north of Venice, at the Aviano Air Base, in Germany at the Ramstein Air Base and back in the states at the Davis-Monthan Air Base in Tucson, Arizona. John retired from Military service in 1991 while stationed at the Dover Air Force Base here in Delaware. John enjoyed his time in the military and the advantages it afforded him and his family.
In 1983, John married and won the love of his life and three amazing sons! Janice, John's devoted wife, held true to her wedding vows as she cared for him, night and day during his illness. The love they shared for each other was quite amazing and a testament to their wedding vows, "…in sickness and in health."

Following retirement from military service, John was employed at the AstraZeneca Pharmaceutical Company, in Newark, Delaware, where he worked for 10 years until his health declined.

John leaves to cherish his memory, Janice, his loving and devoted wife; 3 sons, Roger Belton, Renardo Belton and Alfonzo Belton (Tiffany); 9 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, 2 sisters, Carolyn Gibson and Darcel Bryant, brother, Joseph Bryant, Jr. (Sharon); 2 sisters-in-law, Sharon Bryant and Wanda Haire; 4 brothers-in-law, Michael Haire, Leon Haire, Kenneth Barnes, and Wayne Barnes, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and friends.
