James Tyler Hobson Sr, 83, of Wichita Falls passed away on Saturday, January 15, 2022.
Graveside services with military honor will be held at 9:00 a.m. on Friday, January 28, 2022 at Fort Sill National Cemetery in Elgin, Oklahoma.
James was born on August 27, 1938 to the late James Nolan and Helen (Brownlee) Hobson in Mineral Wells, Texas. The family moved to Indiana, where he attended school. While James was making a transaction at a bank, he met the love of his life, Mary Creamer. The couple married in 1967. He proudly served in the United States Army. In 1980, James moved to Wichita Falls, Texas to take a job at AC Delco, and retired in 2000. He loved so many things in life, outdoors, stamp collecting, civil war history, watching old TV shows, Three Stooges, Andy Griffith and many others. Also, James loved baseball and the Dodgers. James was considered a walking baseball encyclopedia and was awesome at Trivia. Spending time with the family and being grandpa was very special to him, he will truly be missed.
Along with his parents, James was preceded in death by his sister, Dorothy.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Mary Lorriane (Creamer) Hobson; two daughters, Kecia Bixby and husband Terry, Angela Hegstrom and husband Norman; son, James Tyler Hopson Jr. and Melissa; two brothers, Bill Hobson and wife Shelia, Pat Hobson and wife Gloria; sister, Jeanie Hobson; six grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; and numerous other family members.
