Herbert Wootson "Woody" Thompson, 44, of Lenior, NC, formerly of Harts, WV, departed this life on Friday, January 14, 2022.
Born August 6, 1977, at Wayne County, MI, he was the son of Gladys Marie Taylor Queen and the late Herbert Thompson.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Wootson and Blanche Maynard Thompson and his maternal grandparents, Joe and Beatrice Frazier Taylor, Jr.
Those left to cherish his memory are his mother, Gladys (Lester) Queen; two brothers, William Thompson and Thomas "Tiger" (Jess) Thompson; two step-brothers, Ronnie (Karen) Queen and Lonnie Queen; special nieces and nephews, Calvin Joe, Ricky Jay, Taylor Lynn, Anna Marie, Thomas Lee, and Dakota Thompson, Clayton, Logan, Gavin, Cori, Tatum, and Chey Queen. Additionally, Woody leaves behind a host of extended family and friends.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 19, 2022, at the Thompson Cemetery at Thompson Branch, Harts, WV, with Tim Davis and Michael Browning officiating.
Following the services, he will be lovingly laid to rest in the Thompson Cemetery.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Evans Funeral Home & Cremation Services of Chapmanville, WV.
