Roy "Brett" Blevins, 60, went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Thursday, July 29, 2021, after an extended illness. Brett was born March 2, 1961 in New Castle, IN to Judy and Keith Blevins, the third of their four children. He and his family resided in the Henry county area in Indiana throughout his youth, where he attended Blue River Valley High School. Brett worked as a mechanic for a good part of his younger years at Roy's Texaco in Hagerstown, IN. It was while he lived in Hagerstown...While his children were growing up, Brett spent his time working as both a mechanic and fence-builder. He was highly sought after for his fencing work and took great pride in a job well done. Brett eventually moved to Oklahoma to be closer to his parents and siblings, spending the majority of his time in and near the Norman area. Brett was always a source of charisma, spirit, and an infectious smile. He enjoyed being a goofball and making people laugh. He loved tinkering with an engine and could fix nearly anything you brought him, no matter how messed up it was. Brett greatly enjoyed spending time with children, whether it was his own, his grandchildren, or his numerous nieces and nephews. He simply had a way with kids and their joy reflected his own. However, despite all of Brett's joys in life, he also had struggles. Brett wrestled with addiction for many years, which included challenges with mental illness and homelessness. He battled to maintain sobriety off and on throughout his life, doing well at some points and poorly at others. His addiction brought about numerous health issues, which is ultimately what he succumbed to. But no matter how challenging his addiction was, Brett always had a strong faith and knew that someday he would be at peace with his Lord. One of his passions in life was bringing others to know that same love by preaching the gospel and leading others to salvation so that they might know Jesus and enter Heaven's gates. And that is where family and friends know he is now and take comfort in the knowledge that his troubles have ended.

Brett was preceded in death by his father, Roy Keith Blevins, sister Merri Letha Leonard, and aunt Letha "EC" Blevins, all of whom he loved dearly....

Services for friends and family will be held on January 22, 2022, at Wilson Little Funeral Home in Purcell, OK at 2:00 p.m., with a grave-side service immediately following at the Noble IOOF Cemetery.
