A funeral service for Mr. Jerry P. Wade, 76 of Oxford, will be on Wednesday, January 19, 2022, at 12:00 pm in the Toby Miller Chapel at Miller Funeral Home. Mr. Ricky Coffman and Bro. Steve Johnson will be officiating. A burial will follow the service at Salt Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends on the same day from 11:00 am until the time of the service.

Mr. Wade passed away on January 17, 2022.

He is survived by his children, Jerry Shannon Wade (Tracy), Misty Fleming (David); grandchildren, Jessica Hanson, Savanna Wade, Lindsey Wade Bell (Lucas), John Wade, Savannah Fleming; great grandchildren, Natalie and Reilly Hanson; siblings, Norma Jean Grizzard, Jane Wade-Rawlings, Larry Wade; close friends, Marty Mangham, Lynn Barnett, Nelson Medlock, and a host of extended family members and friends.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Florene Wade.

Pallbearers will be Lucas Bell, David Fleming, Randy Lee, Jacob Mayne, AJ Mayne, and Jeff Roberson. Honorary pallbearer will be Jeff Fagan.

Mr. Wade served his country proudly in the United States Army. He served in Vietnam and received the Purple Heart Medal. He continued his service to his county by working at the Anniston Army Depot until his retirement. While at the depot, he received many awards, medals, and honors for his dedicated service.

Mr. Wade attended Cheaha Baptist Church. He was a God loving and God fearing man. He was extremely outgoing and never met a stranger. Mr. Wade was giving and generous and loved his family deeply.

Mr. Wade was an amazing man who loved his family, especially his grandchildren, deeply. He will be greatly missed by all those who loved him the most.

The family will accept flowers, or donations can be made to Cheaha Baptist Church.
