A native of Southampton Co., she was a longtime resident of Suffolk, where she worked at A&P Peanut Produce Company.
Mrs. Jones was a member of the Suffolk Women of the Moose where she spent many nights on the dance floor. Most recently she loved going to Joes Studio and listening to the boys play music. When able, Mrs. Jones would attend Elevate Church in Windsor, VA.
Left to cherish her memory are two children; a son, James "Mike" Jones (Ashley) and a daughter, Sharon Byrd (Floyd) all of Suffolk, VA; a daughter-in-law, Gayle Jones of Boiling Spring Lakes, NC.; 11 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren; a sister, Mary Katherine Andrews of Fort Myers, Fl.; a close friend Roy Council and a special fur baby, Brodie.
Mrs. Jones was preceded in death by her loving husband James Herbert Jones; her son, Timothy Lee Jones, her parents Joseph and Stella Vick; her brothers, Raymond Vick, Kelly Vick, Rueben Vick and Lloyd Vick; her sisters, Jeanette Nurney, Elizabeth Hinkerty, Lessie Deanes; and two great grandchildren. Close friend John Parker.
A private burial will be at Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens.
