Eloise Thornton Brown, 95, of Raleigh, Mississippi passed away from her earthly home to her heavenly home on Sunday, January 16, 2022, at the MS Care Center in Raleigh, Mississippi. She was born Monday, March 01, 1926 in Smith County, Mississippi.
A private family graveside service will be conducted at Merchant Cemetery in Raleigh, Mississippi. Bro. Mark Ramsey will be officiating. Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Magee is in charge of arrangements. 601-849-5031
Mrs. Brown was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, daughter, sister, and friend. She enjoyed working in her yard with her flowers, going to garage sales, and most of all going to church and worshiping our Lord. She had a deep love for everyone she knew and enjoyed cooking for her friends and neighbors. She was very well-known for her home made biscuits. She will be greatly missed by her loving family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Thurman Brown; son, Stanley Brown; grandson, Craig Jordan; father, Barney Thornton; mother, Edna Ainsworth Thornton; and siblings, Lloyd Thornton and Lee Faye Thornton Rogers.
Survivors include her sons, David Brown of Raleigh, MS, and Mark Brown of AK; daughters, Shirley Self of Brandon, MS, and Sherry Kimmel (Mike) of Madison, MS; grandchildren, Angela Austin (Benny) of Laurel, MS, Mark Dwayne Brown of Laurel, MS, Jason Daniel of Biloxi, MS, Ben Daniel (Jennifer) of Biloxi, MS, and Donna Yow (John) of Brandon, MS; great-grandchildren, Gray Jordan of Brandon, MS, Kaitlyn Dickens (Robby) of Brandon, MS, Jordan Yow (Stephanie) of Madison, MS, Nathan Yow of Brandon, MS, Kirk Daniel of Ridgeland, MS, Kayla Daniel of Jackson, MS, Nathan Austin of Laurel, MS, and Wesley Austin of Laurel, MS; great-great- grandchildren, Nora Daniel of Ridgeland, MS, Esten Yow of Madison, MS, Mary Elizabeth Yow of Madison, MS, Emerson Dickens of Brandon, MS, and Blair Dickens of Brandon, MS; brother, Orban Thornton of Brandon, MS; sister, Mildred Thornton Duffey of West Palm Beach, FL; and a host of other family members and friends.
