Michael (Mike) Eugene Morrison, 75, of Mackinaw, IL flew away to his eternal home with his Lord and Savior, January 13, 2022, at OSF Hospital in Peoria, IL.

Mike was born on September 7, 1946, in Galesburg, IL to Dale Eugene Morrison and Betty Jean (Way) Morrison. He married Joni Ward, August 27, 1966. She survives. He was wed to Susan C. Barrick, on April 22, 1977, at Abingdon Pentecostal Church.

Surviving is his beloved wife, Susan, of 44 years, of Mackinaw, his children, Trisa (Gregory) Klypchak of Metamora, IL, Lesley (Jim) Shanks of Morton, IL, Tara (Chris) McEnroe of Morton, IL, Alisa (Bill) Brubaker of Morton, IL, Jared Michael Morrison of Mackinaw; grandchildren Kristin Klypchak, Brooke Shanks, Mia Shanks, Libby Shanks, Conan McEnroe, Evan McEnroe, Isabella (Blake) Carrington, Mary McEnroe, Emily McEnroe, Angela McEnroe, Jude McEnroe, Jacob McEnroe, Ella Brubaker, Caiden Brubaker, Ruby Brubaker, and Jack Brubaker; great-grandchildren Weston Baugher, Lylah Baugher, and Blaine James; brother, Rick (Jeanne) Morrison of Abingdon, IL; sister, Tammy (Mick Anderson) Froelich of Abingdon & nephew, Cory (Breiah) Froelich. His parents preceded him in death.

Mike grew up in Abingdon, IL. He went from a one-room country schoolhouse to graduating from Abingdon High School and Midstate College, with a degree in accounting. He was a dedicated worker at Morton Buildings, Inc., steadily being promoted until he earned the prestigious position of company President before his retirement in 2003. He enjoyed retirement in the country, where he loved walking and watching the Mackinaw Valley wildlife in his yard and on the Mackinaw River bottoms.

He loved watching the St. Louis Cardinals and any sporting or musical events of his children or grandchildren; he was always their biggest fan. He enjoyed anything to do with one of his kids or grandkids. He was a small-town man and loved the farming community. He enjoyed collecting hand-carved walking canes. He was an avid supporter of the 2nd Amendment.

Mike was a man of few words. He was a man of integrity. He loved God, his family, and his country. His yes meant yes, and his no meant no. He was hard-working, humble, generous, and a loving man of Faith. To know him was to love him. He always had time to listen to everybody. He loved reading the Bible and sharing daily verses. He loved blowing his shofar from Jericho, Israel. Over the past year, he enjoyed church services at New Castle Bible Church in Mackinaw, IL.

His parting verse to his family was Joshua 1:9 " Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go. His last text was "Love you forever."

Private family services are being held. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Davis-Oswald Funeral Home in Tremont is handling the arrangements.
