Gary Franklin White, age 69, of Temple passed away January 16, 2022. Gary was born in Austell to Rufus and Maggie White, grew up in the Clarkdale Mill Village, and attended South Cobb High School. Gary met the love of his life, Shelia, on the job, and they married in 1987. He worked as a machinist at National Envelope Co. in Austell, and served there 30 years before his retirement. In his retirement, Gary enjoyed hunting and fishing, and was an avid outdoorsman. He also loved his Alabama football ("Roll Tide!"). Gary loved his family dearly and enjoyed spending time with them. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend who will be dearly missed.
Gary was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Charles White; and granddaughter, Kelsy Parrish. He is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Shelia White; children, Gary Kevin White (wife, Dana) of Rockmart, Laurie Michelle Stevens (husband, Kenath) of Naples, FL, and Amanda Diann Golden (husband, J.R.) of Bremen; sister, Peggy Nash (husband, Buddy) of Winter Gardens, FL; grandchildren, Devin, Mitchell, Karlisha, Maria, Caitlin, Kayla, and Jake; 10 great-grandchildren; sweet dog, Dottie Dyan; and many beloved extended family members and friends.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, January 20, 2:00 PM at Davis-Struempf Chapel with Brother Toby Powers officiating. Interment will follow the service at Sunrise Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
