Marie Thomas
Marie Thomas, age 82, of Berea, passed away after a long illness at the Hospice Compassionate Care Center in Richmond.
Marie was born in Madison County to the late Rawlings Kimbrell and Zelda Hensley. She retired from Dresser Industries and was a member of Bethel Baptist Church. Marie was a fantastic cook and was a caregiver to many of her family members. After her retirement, she rekindled her passion for art and drawing by painting gourds and other items. When she wasn't painting, she enjoyed listening to Elvis with her friend, Georgia.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband of over 61 years, Ira Thomas; her brother, Otis Powell and her sister, Opal French.
She is survived by her children, Rick (Pam) Thomas and Teresa (Eddie) Yeary; her grandchildren, Corey Thomas, Tracey (Rodney Wolfenbarger) Thomas, and David (Jessica) Yeary; and her five great grandchildren, Avery and August Wolfenbarger, and Ben, Jack, and Madelynn Yeary.
Graveside services will be 1pm, Wednesday, January 19, 2022, at Berea Cemetery with Rev. Kenny Davis, Jr. officiating.
