Jack passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 12, 2021 at the Veteran's Health Unit in Fredericton, NB in his 87th year. Husband of the late Irene Fraser (2017), loved father of Stephen of Doaktown, Keith (Fran) of Beeton, ON, Jean (Blair) of Calgary, AB, Larry of Limekiln, Peter (Gaetane) of Moncton and pre-deceased by Kevin (2013), stepchildren Bobby (Fern) of Bathurst, Aurele (Linda) of Moncton, Joyce LaPointe (Claude) of Manitoba, Jane Wellman (Barry) of Oromocto, Judy Spurrell (Garfield) of Belledune. Jack had many granchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren and was pre-deceased by grandson Jason (2017) and granddaughter Dallas (2021). Jack was born and raised in Nashwaak Bridge, NB and the son of the late Irene (Gilmore) and Clair Fraser. He is predeceased by brothers,Ted, Fred, Peter and sisters, Pearl, Gertrude, Beth and survived by Jean Spillman, Vivian Roussel (Camille) and June Douglas (Stewart) and will be fondly remembered by his many nieces and nephews. Jack joined the army in 1951and did all his training and was injured, almost losing an eye just before being deployed to Korea and unfortunately discharged from the Army in 1954. He went to work for Diamond Construction for 11 years on heavy equipment, building bridges and roads. He worked 37 years for Irving Enterprises as a crane operator all through the Atlantic provinces. He was a member for over 65 years and a Life Member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #77 and in 2008 he was named Belledune's Senior of the Year. He was a member on Town Council and the Lions Club. Jack was a very social guy and enjoyed having coffee with his buddies in the morning and telling the odd story or two and loved to play a good game of crib or rummy.
